Good News For Old School Cartoon Fans: 90's Shows are Back!

90’s babies, happy times are here again! If you are in your 20s then you know exactly what I’m talking about when I mention the kid comedies Keenan and Kel, All That, and Clarissa Explains it All. For those of you who have sincerely missed these shows and are longing to hear the phrase “Who loves orange soda?” again, then you are in for a treat. Kicking off in the fall, TeenNick will be giving viewers a taste of the old days and showing a block of some of Nickolodean’s famous 90s shows like Rugrats, Keenan and Kel, Clarissa, and Pete & Pete, airing from midnight to 2 am.

Senior Vice president and general manager of TeenNick Keith Dawkins, told Entertainment Weekly  why they made the decision to air the old programs.

“It was ground-breaking and for the young viewers, a powerful and pivotal time in their lives. Those kids who are now 22, 23 and 24 want to bring that back,” Dawkins said.

I certainly feel like a kid again whenever I see Melissa Joan Hart sporting a jean shirt, cut off polka-dot leggings, and a yellow zebra patterned head band (see photo above). Only good things can come of this (not to mention some of those trends are coming right back around full circle)! I’m still waiting for some of Nickelodeon’s classic cartoons like Rock’s Modern Life and Doug to be aired on the popular children’s network, but I will take what I can get for now.
What about you? Are you excited to hear about some of Nickelodeon’s old shows being aired on TeenNick or are you over it before its begins?
