True Blood's Evan Rachel Wood on Winslet and Mildred Pierce

Evan Rachel Wood teared up on her way to meet her favorite actress and co-star on HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce, Kate Winslet, she told People

In the interview, Wood gushes over her admiration for Winslet and weighs the differences between herself and her character, Veda Pierce,  Mildred’s superficial actress daughter.
Wood also told People that Winslet helped her through her first nude scene, to which Winslet remarked "[I let Evan] know that there was someone to hold her hand and throw a robe over her at the right moment. I think that made her feel a little bit better."
Wood told Fancast “…it was for an important part of the film and it is incredibly powerful, not gratuitous,” she tells us. “I think the stuff they show on MTV is so much worse.” Sounds like someone’s been keeping up to date with MTV’s controversial series Skins.
The miniseries, directed by Todd Haynes and featuring Guy Pearce, revolves around a divorced single mother striving to support her family, clashing with her ambitious daughter. Parts one and two premiere March 27 and the series will be fulfilled the two following Sundays.

Wood also spilled to Fancast about her role in the upcoming film “The Ides of March” in which she plays an intern.  Wood reveals that the film, directed by George Clooney, is about “the politics of politics,” and also features Ryan Gosling and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
True Blood fans are anxious to see if Wood will return to the vampire series as Queen Sophie-Anne after the season finale ended with an unfinished fight to the death between her character and the vampire Bill Compton.
